Badass suit
First of all, I've never received so many compliments as I have with my Sunset Sickbird Suit, it's an eye-catcher 100%. Beyond the aesthetic, it's incredibly warm and you can wear an incredible amount of layers underneath, which is paramount for me when facing the "character building" sub-zero temperatures that Montana winters provide. When I wear my Nomad Bibs, I'm able to carry my beacon in one of the chest pockets and attach the leash to the suspenders without any issue or confusion. In the Sickbird this is a possibility if you place the beacon in the designated interior phone pocket, but the leash being attached to the suspenders easily causes entanglement. If there was a D-ring or something similar to attach the leash to it could negate this issue. Overall though, I'm in love with the suit. It's incredible on powder days and allows you to stay dry all day (even if you take a tumble). I'm 5'10" and wear a size medium and find it to fit quite will and still have plenty of mobility.
I can’t believe I waited this long to get a sickbird suit. It’s comfortable, the perfect amount of warmth with plenty of vent options. The pockets are intuitive and perfect. The zippers are super high quality, and most importantly, I now have to shred harder to look almost as cool as the suit!!
1. The zipper draws for the main zipper and four the zip pits want to be longer to assure ability to pull on them, and I have leverage to make them open more easily. 2. The suspender system is OK but I’m pretty thin and look pregnant in this suit. A fix would be to have a waist belt to cinch the garment around the waist as well as having a suspenders. 3. The materials selected are first rate.
Construction looks solid. I’m 5 11, 185 and I think the medium could be a bit larger. The large was a tent on me.
