The new AERO PULLOVER is an extension of the Strafe favorite Aero Insulator, but while similar, this piece is an entirely new animal. Minimalistic and function-first, we cut weight by removing the hood, halving the zipper, and going with a slightly lower insulation weight. We added a kangaroo pocket, but kept the same packability, PrimaLoft® insulation tech, ultralight and water-resistant Recon SHIELD rip-stop fabric, and, of course, the same handsome alpine style and fit. This low profile pullover is ideal for layering under any of our shells while always looking great on its own.

I’m amazed at how well this piece works. I’ve bought two of them and probably made three other buy it and they all agree
I've been on the hunt for a touring puffy for a while now and the Aero Pullover is what I ended up going with. As someone who prioritizes weight savings and packability, this checks both of those boxes. I opted for the anorak option over the full-zip because I spend a lot of time filming in the backcountry and having an easy-access kangaroo pouch for batteries has been elite! If you're looking for a UL layer to pair with a shell I couldn't recommend this one more. For size reference, I'm 5'9 160lbs and have been in the Medium. If you're similar to my size, and like more of a loose fit, you could probably go up to a large and be happy. That said, the Medium has been perfect for me.
There's no doubt that when needed, a hood can really save the day. However, most of the time you really don't need one. The sans hood design is one of my favorite aspects of this piece - it keeps your neck warm and moving freely at the same time. That and the kangaroo pocket for keeping either a GoPro, a snack, or your hands warm. It's also super light for synthetic piece. I love down, but synthetic is nice not having to worry about it compromising when its wet and it doesn't compress, making for a perfect pillow when packed in it's stuff-sack. I'm just under 6'1" and the large seems like an ideal insulator fit. Of note, the pullover style makes it a little bit harder to get on and off.
Thanks for the review, Vic!
