A critical piece in your layering system, the versatile Alpha Direct Vest features exposed 100% recycled 90gm Polartec® Alpha® insulation. By eliminating the interior lining, the insulation dries quicker, is more breathable and lighter weight, making this piece our premier active insulator. Really wanted to like this but the material is super thin and the shoulders were much narrower than you would expect in an XL size. Very sorry to say not worth $153 IMHO. That said, the Strafe Capitol ski pant is fantastic, highly recommend.
This piece is perfect for that top layer on those tours or mid layer for mild cool days on the resort. It packs amazingly. The material is dope. Actually I’ve been wearing it around the house and in town pretty much daily since I got it, but will see how that goes long term. When the temp drops you’re going to need something more but it’s pretty versatile. Get one! :)
I can’t believe I did not get one of these a long time ago. Such a great functional piece.
The Alpha Direct Vest is an amazing ski layer. I wore it every single day out this season, warm or cold, rain or snow, hill/touring/sledding/introducing my 1.5 year old to the mountains. Good fit, doesn't feel too bulky (I'm 5'9", 160lb and have the med). Made for a perfect mid layer, usually over a basecamp hoody. Looking forward to using it as a simple packaway layer for cold mtb or alpine climbing this summer/fall.
The team at both the Highlands store and the Snowmass shop are great. Best is warm and easy to cram in a backpack if it get’s a little hot in the spring. The gear is the best! Thanks for everything
