    Perfect Ultralight Rain Layer

This jacket is dialed for high output in wet weather. Essentially a beefed up houdini jacket in terms of pack size and weight, this jacket stuffs in your running pack or somewhere on your bike (fits great in a feed bag). The perforated material reminds me of a higher quality, less disposable version of what's used on a frog toggs jacket- not going to be ultra durable but tough enough for when it'll actually be worn. Cut is spot on. PIt vents are brilliant. Hood fits under helmet well and over a hat. I tire of reviews complaining that a high output jacket material isn't "100% waterproof"- it shouldn't be. If it was, you'd be sweating it out anyhow or you'd never put it on during your activity. There are myriad fabrics that will meet your needs for standing around in a downpour, go check those out if you're looking for a rain slicker. One request- offer this in a super hi vis colorway. Don't get me wrong, I love the redneck colorway I scored but, if a layer like this on and you aren't bowhunting or something, the weather is such that visibility is low and you need to be seen by others.

    Incredibly Lightweight and Durable

After a full summer of abuse, this jacket has held up through everything I’ve put it through. The pit vents are incredible and have made it my go to when riding MTN bikes and dirtbikes. Dirtbiking historically has ruined every rain coat I’ve used and after two 75+ mile races and for pleasure rides through tight trees, it’s held up brilliantly.

    Awesome jacket but not waterproof...

Purchased in late June for mountain biking in Northeast USA and Quebec. Love the fit and style. It's feather light and packs down to almost nothing. Breathes well while riding and the open pits actually work. Longer cut is nice for using with a hip pack. Love this jacket for us as an ultralight emergency rain shell or wind shell in misty conditions/cold conditions. But when staying dry is critical, I'll reach for something else. I've used two times while mountain biking in a steady rain and once casually. First use out of the box was during a light rain for 20-30 minutes followed by sun and temps in the 80s while riding mostly gravel. I stayed dry and the jacket was dry inside and out within 10 minutes once the sun came out. Second use was in a solid downpour for about 60 minutes on the tail end of a long ride. Once inside, removed the jacket to find the inside completely soaked through. Third use was 10 minutes ago. I wore the jacket outside for approximately 10 minutes in a heavy downpour while unloading a truck. Once inside, the jacket was again soaked through and my tshirt was wet to the touch.

Lightweight with a heavy weight attitude

Put the Scout jacket to the test this spring in Southern CO. With our unusually wet May and colder and rainier June so far, the Scout Jacket has kept me dry through it all. Best thing, when the sun does pop, it easily fits in the hip pack or pocket and you can't tell it there!

    I LOVE THIS JACKET

This is the best lightweight rain jacket I’ve ever worn. I spend chilly days hunting in the rain with it, and I’ve been winter marathon training in it. It’s so breathable I put it on over a base layer and I can run comfortably for 0 degrees to 35 degrees while staying warm and also not sweating. The pit vents work great and the reflective accents keep me safe jogging at night. Can’t say enough about this jacket, you need it.
