For great and should last me a few seasons!
I'm 60 years old and have gained a bunch of weight that I can't seem to lose. I'm 6' 2", 265 pounds. At that size, my absolutely beloved 12-year-old XL Mountain Hardwear pants were basically unwearable, even though I had the waist let out. I tried many new pants in XXL and returned them all for various reasons. Uncomfortable, too tight in the waist, lousy feeling material, too "hard and noisy", **** design, etc. I mean I ordered at least 4 new pants and had to return them all, from Arc'teryx, Mountain Hardwear (The Viv), OR, Cloudveil, Patagonia...none of them were to my liking. And then Strafe came along. Best looking, most comfortable pants I've had on in years. Material is awesome and very "quiet". Fit is spot on for me, and I love how the waist is adjustable. The weight of the pants is perfect - I was not remotely cold or even chilly at 10 degrees, and I wasn't overheating at all at 34 degrees. Pockets are nice. Zips are nice. Suspenders are fantastic. Bottom line, I love them. Skied a week at Steamboat with them and had zero issues. Will they hold up over the years like my old Mountain Hardwear pants did? Only time will tell. I do wish they had full leg zips, but those are very hard to find these days. I also wish the gaiters were a little bigger, as I wear Apex boots and the fit is a bit tight around the upper boot down there. If you're at all like me - fussy about your pants and the way they fit and feel, I'm telling you here - Try these Strafe Capitol 3L shell pants. They're awesome!
The fabric is highly functional and comfy. Appreciate the stretch and breathability. The suspenders are low profile and easy to adjust. These will be the go-to pant for all alpine adventures.
