This suit is awesome. Stylish and technically superior. It keeps you warm and dry in every condition with just a base layer. Also Strafe customer service is top notch. Great brand. Look forward to my next purchase.
Hope it works last one i had stayed water resistant for 4 years in tride. Ps finding a taylor to alter sucks.
can't wait to try it out next year! Looks and feels awesome.
Next year's forecast: powder days in your new sickbird suit!
I've been living in this suit for the last couple of months ski touring in the Austrian Alps. It's so thoughtfully designed I thought it well worth a review! DETAILS: All of the air vents, pockets, seems, scuff guards and hand warmers are super well thought out and I get sooooo many compliments on the colours (I have the pink and the green suits from the 2019-20 collection). When I'm touring I'm either a sweaty mess or shivering and in all of the different conditions this suit has kept me dry and comfortably warm. The seams are properly waterproofed and the fabric at the top around the chin doesn't chafe. The hood fits securely over a helmet. So far there's no sign of wear and tear on the suit where my AVA bag surely rubs or from carrying skis over my shoulder. The suspenders inside mean you can take the top jacket off, tie it around your waist and still be properly covered. SIZING: I'm 168/5'5", lean and normally wear a 25 in trousers and the XS is a perfect fit. It's not too baggy and it's also not too tight. I am comfortably wearing first and second layers beneath. If you're a few inches taller than me I think you might need to take a S. For comparison, I'm also an XS in Ortovox, an XS in Arc'teryx and a 34 in Toni Sailor. LAYERING: On warmer days I only need a first layer but when it's wet or cold I've been wearing either the Aero Insulator or the Aero Pullover Insulator so I highly recommend both of these jackets (both in XS). For super arctic days I comfortably wear a thicker puffer.
I bought a previous year's model and after riding it a full season I can say that I absolutely love it. I tried on several onesies before buying this one and this was the best fitting suit of those I tried - roomy where needed for comfort and movement, but still cut in a way that's stylish. It's also extremely well made, durable, waterproof, and warm. I definitely prefer the one-color design, which I have in a vibrant turquoise. Overall an expensive investment, but worth it.
